The morning started out foggy as usual in the Shadowclan territory. It hid everything in sight and it didn't help that all of Shadowclan was almost dead, thanks to the upcoming Leaf-Fall season. A long-legged calico appeared out of the clouds of white and gray. Her bobbed tail brushed the dew from leaves as she made her way to the farthest part of the swamp that sat on the endge of Shadowclan territory. Her green eyes glanced around. Her tall, red ears perked up as she heard the familiar croaking of the prey. She set her body low to the ground then and her plush, white chest turned gray and brown with the sludge on the ground. It had rained recently, making everything slick and sloppy. The young apprentice didn't care though. She just wanted to help her clan out. Sure she was breaking the rules by being out of camp on her own, but what harm could she get into on her own territory? She weighed the risks before she left and nothing came to mind.
The calico leaped as she saw the bumpy skin of a large toad. Her small paws caught it but when she bit it, it's foul odor caught in her throat. She gagged and spit it up. She'd need to be starving to eat that. But then she remembered she was hunting for her clan, not herself. She crept forward a few pawsteps then leaped again. She caught it and killed it this time. She set it down and crept closer to the border. She could smell Thunderclan scent and her nose wrinkled up in disgust. Quickly she ran to the border and sat under an old Holly bush. They'd better not cross here. She warned silently.
