"beautiful orange she-cat with olive green eyes."
•••••••••
Gender: She-cat
Age: 27 Moons
Clan: Windclan
Position: Warrior/Deputy
•••••••••
Physical Description:
Fluid and lithe, dogtail is in pristine physical health. Her tail is thick and dark, which ultimately lead to her name being what it is. On the rest of her body, white and orange interplay, with chocolate tabby markings faintly tainting the orange of her fur. Her build is average for a warrior, her stomach unsurprisingly lean. a few scars litter her belly from various battles. Both of her eyes are a startling olive green, with scattered accents of yellow.
Personality Description:
Dogtail is a she-cat who isn't afraid to speak her mind. She loves to put input in when it most matters and doesn't care what others think about her. She is exceptionally thoughtful and wise even at such a young age. She never goes through anything without thinking of the consequences. This makes her a wise choice for handling others in a calm manner, whether its a fire burning the Clan or saving a kit.
This she-cat fights bravely in battle, calculating each move in her mind before pouncing. She uses claws and strength to her advantage. She is quite a large she-cat and this only adds to her list of advantages. When this she-cat is around the cats she loves most, she is completely different from her fighting personality. She is happy and lovable. She is often known to purr or twitch her tail nonstop.
Dogtail is grumpy when she has disappointed others, she never likes to leave a job undone. If she says she is going to do something, she is going to do something. That's one of this she-cats best qualities-never go back on a promise. She also doesn't lie unless its to protect those she loves or cares about. There was a time when Dogtail never kept promises and told thousands of lies, never caring what the consequences would be. Though one day when she was about to die from a battle wound, StarClan came to her and told her of her dirty deeds and that if she didn't stop and change her ways she would ultimately be sent to Place of No Stars. This is when Dogtail began to change for the better, she realized she was never going to have any friends if she didn't do so.
History:
----Before Birth----
"Its StarClan! They're angry!"
"Its just a storm Milkfur," another she-cat tried to soothe her.
"They don't want me to have them, its not right!" It was no use trying to tell the she-cat, Milkfur that there was nothing wrong and her unborn kits would be well off even during a storm. After what seemed like moons, three young healthy kits were born to Milkfur and Brownspots.
"What are you going to name them?" Asked a young apprentice.
"Pondkit, Dogkit and Puddlekit," replied both newly mother and father--who ended up smiling at each other in turn.
KITHOOD:
"Come on Dogkit!" Pondkit yowled to his sister in a loud squeaky voice, the young tom wasn't accustomed to his new found ability. "I'm coming!" Dogkit mewed back in response, it seemed her brother was on the move once again. Shaking her head she nudged Puddlekit forward and followed suit. They were off to explore the camp clearing. The kits were out to play! "Leave the warriors alone!" Milkfur called after her three kits, but to no avail. They were too excited to pay any heed to their mothers words. "You're a warrior!" they meowed to every large cat that they passed while out in the clearing. "You're an apprentice!" they said to kits a bit larger than them. Apprentices rolled their eyes and nodded to them before padding off to get back to what they were suppose to be doing.
Dogkit soon got bored and retreated back to her mother who was watching from just outside the nursery entrance. "Toms!" she hissed in annoyance, her brothers were loud and obnoxious. Milkfur ended up laughing and licking her daughter on the head, "don't worry, they'll grow out of it" meanwhile Pondkit and Puddlekit were about to pounce on their next target, the most grumpiest tom in all of WindClan! An elder who was older than anything they had seen. "Pondkit! Puddlekit! Don't do that!" Milkfur tried to warn before the elder turned swiftly around and snapped at them, "What do you think your doing!" he hissed, "I don't have time to play with foolish kits! Now get out of my way!" No need to say that twice! Pondkit thought, scurrying off after Puddlekit. They had, had enough adventure for one day. Dogkit was already on her butt laughing at her brothers'. They were frightened of an elder! One as old as a rock.
Pondkit and Puddlekit didn't dare venture from the nursery after that for another moon. Too afraid that they would see that grump of an elder and have him eat their heads for supper. Of course, Dogkit found their fear hilarious. To freak them out, she actually left the den every day. And she actually made friends with the grumpy elder. He told the she-kit stories everyday, until the day he passed on.
"Tomorrow you turn six moons" Milkfur was saying to Puddlekit, Pondkit and Dogkit that morning, "Now you're each going to receive a wonderful mentor, you are to treat them with the utmost respect, understand?"
"We understand" the three siblings said together. It was as if they had ants in their fur, they were excited as squirrels to become apprentices. None of them could wait a moment longer before they could call each other by their new names, Pondpaw, Puddlepaw and Dogpaw.
APPRENTICEHOOD:
"Pondkit, Dogkit and Puddlekit!" Called their leader, "It has come to attention that it is time for your apprentice ceremony to begin! Please step forward!"
Finally! The day had come! Puddlekit, Pondkit and Dogkit stepped forward. Dogkit was excited most of all, she was going to become an apprentice and get the best mentor ever, she was sure of it. "Honeycloud, you have known pain and love, I want you to show wisdom and protection to Puddlepaw, Tigertail with your ambition and strength may you teach Dogpaw well, Riverheart with your loyalty and strength may you pass that down to Pondpaw" with that the ceremonies ended and the cats departed.
"We're apprentices now!" Dogpaw exclaimed to her brothers excitedly. Pondpaw and Puddlepaw looked from each other to their sister and they all shared a laugh. Often the three siblings and their mentors would train together, learning the way of a warrior.
A moon later, Leaf-bare had struck all of the Clans', and thus included WindClan. Dogpaw and his siblings had believed they were invincible and could not catch green-cough no matter how bad it struck their Clan. Unfortunately they could not control who it affected and who it did not. Puddlepaw had caught green-cough. It wasn't surprising that he did, for most of the Clan had began to catch it during this time. Pondpaw and Dogpaw were extremely upset when they found out about it and angered them that their brother let himself grow weak. They accused him one morning of not eating and taking care of himself.
"Why!" Dogpaw growled angerly at her brother. She couldn't understand why her own brother would do such a thing!
Puddlepaw coughed and shook his head before rasping, "I did eat Dogpaw" you could hear the strain in the young toms voice, his eyes looked dull and his pelt seemed to just cling onto him. Could he really have eaten and be so sick? Dogpaw decided she didn't know and would have to ask the Medicine Cat first. Her eyes grew round with worry, would her brother die? She hoped not! They were suppose to become warriors together.
Dogpaw lashed out with wild anger. She was always known for a bit of a temper, she didn't understand that her brother was sick and could die. Nearly a moon later Puddlepaw was still in the Medicine Cats den growing sicker by the day. A few days later when Pondpaw had calmed his sister down he received news that Puddlepaw was passing and requested that he see his family before doing so.
Dogpaw and Pondpaw raced to the Medicine Cats Den along with their parents. "You have to rest Puddlepaw," they had heard the Medicine Cat mewing gently to the tom cat. "But I have to see my family!" the tom replied stubbornly, he wasn't going to pass on without saying his final words, the tom knew he was going to die anyway. "We're here Puddlepaw" replied Milkfur as Brownspots nodded in agreement. The father was at a loss for words. "You have to promise.." Puddlepaw rasped before another spitting round of coughs captivated him, "Promise not to forget me" the young sick apprentice closed his eyes and was gone-just like that.
Dogpaw let out a wail of grief, she had been horrible to her dead brother(than dying brother) because she had thought he let himself get weak. Milkfur nuzzled Brownspots as Dogpaw buried her nose in her brother's fur.
WARRIORHOOD:
"I, hereby declare these apprentices by their new name! Dogtail and Pondfur!" came their leaders booming voice one morning. They had trained harder and tried harder ever since Puddlepaw's death.
Dogtail still felt the tiredness of that fateful day when Puddlepaw told them not to forget him. Glancing up at the sky she wondered if her brother was watching them even now.
Several moons later Milkfur and Brownspots died of old age. Their parents were not young when they had their first litter and knew it would be their last as well. This time Dogtail was experienced and knew how to deal with death at a more civilized manner.

The day was young. The world was tinged orange from the sunrise, the air alive with migrating flocks of birds. Dogtail watched the many birds as they flew, acting more like a single entity then a hundred strong. "Curious." She commented aloud to no one in particular. It was truly a marvel how prey existed, sometimes so scattered, and sometimes clumped together in mass movements.
Closing her eyes, the ginger tabby tried to comprehend the logic. It was vastly different from the lifestyle of the clan cats, forever bound together by blood and law. A safer world was created by such strong bonds that the cats shared, bonds that helped queens raise kits and elders live long. Clan life was perfect all thanks to the brilliant minds of the many windclan forefathers.
Smiling, dogtail peered sympathetically at the flock, which was quickly growing smaller over the horizon. Prey animals had not a kind life, not like the life held by the warriors of windclan.
